Lon Chaney [Artist Info] (Nevada, USA.)
Lon Chaney Montage

Personal Profile

I'm in my mid 40's and live with my wife Augusta, mairried for 16 years, and our daughter Jasmine in a small town just outside of Reno Nevada. I grew up in sothern Oregon but moved to Nevada soon after high school. I spent most of my working career working as a billboard painter in Reno so I guess art was a big part of my life but to me it was just a job. After work painting was the last thing I wanted to do. Funny what life throws at you. In 1995 when my daughter was born I started getting dizzy spells, not good when your 60 feet up a sign painting. Found out I had mutiple sclerosis. Well now I had a lot of time to take care of my daughter rather that send her to daycare. As it affected my hands I found I couldn't play my guitars any more. I needed something to do so I bought a computer. I soon discovered a very cool program for making landscapes called Bryce. I was hooked on 3d art ever since. I was really supprised I was pick for this project as an object modeler because I was more of a landscape artist. I found that I kind of have a knack for modeling objects although I still prefer to do landscapes. I want to thank everybody at venatic for the opporunity to work on this game it's been a great learning experience for me.

Comments

Lon is both a superb 3D artist and a real workhorse. When a deadline or a difficult need caused us panic, we turned to Lon, and we are pretty sure he can do ANYTHING. We consider him a "heart" of DOA's art production process.
